Avenue United Under 14 march on to Division 1 Cup Final👏👏

After last weeks high quality drawn game Avenue and Bridge faced each other again tonight in the U14 cup semi final replay.

Avenue started the game strongly and took an early lead through Colin Frawley. The rest of the first half ebbed and flowed with both teams having chances. However Avenue went into the half time break with their 1:0 lead in tact.

The second half started at a fast pace with Bridge piling on the pressure, trying to find the equaliser. However Avenue weathered the storm thanks to some strong goalkeeping and defensive play. As the game went on Avenue started to create more chances and with about ten minutes to go doubled their lead thanks again to Colin Frawley. In the last few minutes Bridge closed the gap with an excellent individual goal but it wasn’t enough as Avenue saw out the game 2:1 winners.

Thanks and well done to Bridge for another excellent game of football.

Well done to the Avenue boys who march on to the cup final.
