Avenue U14B took on Shannon Town this evening in the cup semi final. The two teams have been evenly matched during the league this year and the first half tonight proved no different with the teams 0:0 at half time.

Ten minutes into the second half Avenue made the breakthrough with a goal from Ryan Mahony. After the goal Avenue kept up the intensity and Ryan ended up scoring 3 more to bring his tally for the evening to 4. Shannon continued to threaten but thanks to some strong Avenue defending Shannon were unable to mount a comeback. As the game went on Avenue added three more goals thanks to Jake ‘Cully’ Culligan, Alex Dunn and Dylan Fitzsimons. Thanks and great credit to Shannon for an exciting and sporting game.
