Avenue United Under 14 B team travelled to Shannon for a game against Shannon Town. The boys found themselves 1:0 down early in the first half and in spite of a number of chances it stayed that way until half time. Avenue continued to pile on the pressure and create chances in the second half and got their reward when a goal from Conor Guerin levelled the score. This was short lived however as, somewhat against the run of play, Shannon took a 2:1 lead mid way through the second half. The Avenue boys continued to play good football and continued to create chances. With about 5 minutes left to play the Avenue hard work paid off when Dylan Fitzsimons scored a cracking goal to again draw the sides level. Avenue went looking for a winner but time ran out and the game ended 2:2.Well done to both teams on a cracking game of ⚽️.
