Avenue United earned a well deserved win in this thrilling encounter.

Avenue got off to a flying start with a well taken goal in the first minute by Dan Brohan. Avenue were soon 2-0 up when Mark O”Regan beat 2 players on the wing and hit a superb finish. Our opponents were not about to let us have things our own way and soon struck back from a corner to make it 2-1.

The 1st half ended 3-1 when a sweetly stuck shot by Toby Akinnagbe came off the head of a Mastergeeha defender and hit the net.

The 2nd half was tight. Our Kerry opponents came out strong and put us under heavy pressure but Liam Flynn , Steven O’Neil and Eoin Keane were outstanding at the back and Avenue defended resolutely as a team. Avenue United's Goalkeeper Eric McMahon made a couple of excellent saves to keep the Kerry opposition to one goal.

Despite the pressure we created much the better chances and went close on several occasions. we finally sealed the game when team captain James Palache struck sweetly into the bottom corner to make it 4-1. A great result and great celebrations followed as our Under 12 team moved smoothly into the next round (Last 32- Open Draw).
