Our A Team made the trip to Cahir Park AFC Tipperary earlier this afternoon to take on the mighty St. Michaels AFC .
We started brightly , creating a couple chances but unfortunately a Stephen McGann strike was saved by the opposition GK and a Ronan Kerin effort went narrowly over the crossbar . Michael’s tested us a couple of times from set pieces but our defence to their credit stood up to the challenge . We took the lead from a corner of our own when the ball fell to Ronan’s feet and he was able to finish past the Michael‘s GK . It remained 0-1 at Half Time . In the 54th minute , the opposition equalised , we dealt with the initial cross into the box from a set piece but when the ball was recovered on the edge of the box by one of their players , their shot was deflected past our Goalkeeper. Our Boys reacted well to the conceding and we created a couple of more chances again . We seemed to have got the upper hand while also dominating possession of the ball.
While then came the sucker punch - we conceded a harsh free kick in a dangerous position and a great delivery into the box was headed home former Treaty United player Sean Guerins . 2-1 to the Home side . Our Boys kept going and performed right until the Final whistle , Ronan Kerin saw his headed effort cleared off the line in the final minutes , a McGann Free kick that looked like it was heading into the back of the net was blocked by the head of the defender and a Philip Talty shot from the edge of the box went narrowly wide .
Delight for the Home side as the Final whistle sounded but despair for our boys and our club . Best of Luck to St. Michael’s in the Final of the Competition .

Well done to all our Players and Coaches for a remarkable run in this seasons Munster Junior Cup . Thank You to all our Supporters who attended this afternoons game . Focus now turns to Domestic League and Cup duties for the remainder of the season .
