Hi All Avenue Parents;
We are writing to you about the recent social media postings linked to the club. We appreciate and understand that this may have caused you some worry and concern as it did us. Firstly we just want to assure you that there is no connection between the contents of these social media postings and any coach/person involved with or associated with any Avenue team or indeed with any club officials. Secondly as a club, we take this issue very seriously and have been in contact with the FAI to discuss the matter. While it is a difficult situation, as a club, we don’t want to shy away from the issue itself and our responsibilities to all our members.
Our internal process is underway and pending this process, we would request all to ensure that fair procedures are applied by all and to that end avoid needless comment that might harm any individuals or club members. It is important that our wonderful Club is not unnecessarily damaged by any speculation concerning the matters under review. We trust that all will respect the sensitive process underway and we are mindful of our duty of care to all persons and stakeholders in this process.
We are planning to arrange a talk for players, coaches and parents on the topic in the near future. We will send out information when this is organised. Also, as this a societal issue we will talk to the Clare Schoolboys-girls Soccer League (CSSL) about opening this information night to other clubs in the area.
In the past 40 years our Club has gone from strength to strength and now on the eve of our anniversary we trust all will focus on the moment and our successes.
We thank you for your continued support.….
Avenue United.
